Manchester United have been given a big boost as summer signing and defender Leny Yoro is back in training after a foot operation.

The 18-year-old is back on the grass at Carrington after injuring his foot in the summer, the club revealed on Monday. The centre-back, who joined from Lille in July for £52 million ($68m), is now doing individual training work at the club's training ground and is being put through his paces in the gym, too.

United beat out Real Madrid to sign the highly-rated teenager but he is yet to play for their first-team in a competitive game due to the setback that required surgery. The club stress there is still 'plenty of work still to do' for the youngster before he makes his Red Devils debut but this is a step in the right direction.

The defender made 44 appearances in all competitions for Lille last season, scoring three goals along the way. He was in the Ligue 1 Team of the Year in 2023-24 as clubs across the world coveted his signature. In the end, United got their man and he signed a deal at Old Trafford until 2029.
