When asked by about what his ideal end to the 2023-24 season would look like, Toney said: "We win every game from now until the end of the season. I've scored 20 goals, we have nine games left and we've kept nine clean sheets. Something like that."
He went on to talk about what the perfect summer would involve, where he added: "I'm in the mix for the Euros, then we win! If Brentford was to sell me, they make their money… and I move to Madrid!"
THE BIGGER PICTURE
In a separate interview with Sky Sports during the January transfer window, Toney was open about his ambitions to leave Brentford in the near future to play at a 'top club'. "You can never predict when is the right time to move elsewhere, but I think it's obvious I want to play for a top club," he said.
"Everybody wants to play for a top club, that is fighting for titles. Whether it's this January that is the right time for a club to come in and pay the right money, who knows? But my main focus is to do what I do on the pitch and let the background work take care of itself."
