Western Australian Cricket Association03-Aug-2001Western Australian Cricket Association is delighted to announce theappointment of Mrs Kath White as its new Chief Executive Officer.Mrs White was until recently the chief executive of City of Wanneroo.Prior to that she was the Managing Director of the West Coast College ofTAFE. She has been twice awarded the prestigious Telstra Business Womanof the Year award in the public and corporate sector categories.Mrs White has been a member of the WACA Executive Committee for the pasttwo years. During this time, she has served on a number of the key WACAcommittees and is familiar with all aspects of the WACA’s operations.This experience will facilitate a seamless transition into the positionof Chief Executive Officer.As a consequence of accepting the role, Mrs White will resign from theExecutive Committee.In her time on the WACA Executive Committee, Mrs White has demonstrateda passion for the game of cricket. The Executive Committee believe thather love for cricket combined with her comprehensive management andbusiness skills will provide the WACA with an outstanding leader for itsmanagement team.The Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Chief Executive of the AustralianCricket Board have each expressed their support for Mrs White’sappointment.Mr Charles Fear, the Chairman of the WACA, expressed his delight at theprospect of working with Mrs White.The efforts and performance of Mr Rod Lillis, the Acting Chief ExecutiveOfficer and of the WACA management and staff have been greatlyappreciated by the WACA Executive Committee.Mrs White and Mr Fear will be in attendance at todays press conferenceto answer further questions.
