Mbappe was admitted to hospital last week with gastroenteritis and has missed both of Real Madrid's opening two Club World Cup matches. According to , he has lost 5kg in weight and has not looked well in training.

Mbappe has returned to training and could feature in Real's last group game against Red Bull Salzburg on Friday. He has been working in the gym this week, with the report stating his weight loss is clear from photos in training.
