Man Utd starlet Amad Diallo has confirmed that he will not be playing for Ivory Coast at the Africa Cup of Nations this month.

The 21-year-old was not included in Ivory Coast's final squad for the tournament, but various outlets have listed him among the Premier League players who will be on international duty this month. However, as per , in response to a now-deleted graphic that included him as one of three United players called up to play at AFCON, Amad tweeted: "Not true!"

Amad joined United from Atalanta in 2021, and last season impressed on loan in the Championship with Sunderland. After suffering a knee injury during United's pre-season tour of the United States in the summer, the Ivorian forward returned to action as a substitute during the Red Devils' 2-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest last week.

Now that he is back to full fitness, Amad is reportedly attracting loan interest from Championship promotion hopefuls Ipswich and Sunderland. He is, however, still under contract at United until 2025 and it is has been reported that a permanent exit will not be sanctioned in the current transfer window.
