The first window of the summer shuts on Tuesday evening, with any signings made after that stage unable to play in the group stage of the Club World Cup. The Blues aim to get Gittens through the door and take him to the tournament.

Gittens has caught the eye of Stamford Bridge chiefs after he scored 12 goals and assisted five in the 2024-25 season for the Bundesliga club. He played for the Blues in his youth and looks set to return to English football.

It is being widely reported they have upped their bid for Gittens to £42m and want to agree a deal with Dortmund as soon as possible.
